Welcome
This is the wiki for Mr. Frost's Warren Prescott grade 8 Math/Science classroom.
Contact information: School # 617.635.8346, or by email: sfrost@boston.k12.ma.us
This site will change on a near-daily basis as a forum to post homework, link to websites that may provide a detailed and varied explanation of concepts covered in class, general content being covered in class, and any other information helpful to students and parents.
Parent/Teacher meeting dates & times: May 9th 4:00 to 6:00
Please call the school and arrange a time that is convenient to meet Ms. DeTora and
myself. If there are any scheduling conflicts, please email us to arrange an
alternative morning meeting.
HW Help! There is help provided for homework at Boston Public Libraries during select evenings from 4 to 6.
The schedule is: Neighborhood Library HW help.pdf
*** A book I highly recommend for Algebra 1 reference and/or help is "Algebra" by Denise Szecsei (publisher: Homework Helpers). It is an excellent resource with clear, precise explanations. Her book "Pre-Calculus" will fulfill math needs through high school. Both books cost $15 retail, but can be purchased for less on Amazon.
Summer Programs:
MIT innovation summer program Aug. 13 - 17, 9:00 - 5:00
Apply at: http://www.innoworks.org/newinno/studentapplication.php
Any questions can be referred to: innoworks@mit.edu
*** I have been notified by MIT that you should NOT send in the paper application. Please bring it to
me and I will arrange a time for MIT to pick them up. ***

Handouts
Handouts are provided as a pdf link after the homework assignment (it's the red figure in the box; just click the link and it will pop-up as a pdf for viewing or printing). Some computers will have you "download" the file. It can then be easily viewed or printed.
Helpful Web Links
These are the national standards being implemented through the next few years. It is important to
become familiar with them since all public schools are accountable to teaching them by grade level.

Please use the Tab "Pages and Files" to download classroom content. Not all handouts are available because of copyright concerns.
